I got such great memories reading over this recipe. My mom used to make this all the time for us when when my brother and I were children.

I started using my crockpot about 4 months ago and this recipe never came to mind.

Thank you for the reminder!

I made this for dinner a couple nights ago, and although it tasted great, the stuffing completely disintegrated and became mush in the slow cooker. Has that happened to you? The flavor was still good, and the chicken was nicely cooked, but the stuffed resembled more of a gravy than actual bread pieces. I'm going to try it again because I think the concept is great, but maybe I'll try adding the stuffing halfway through the cooking process to see what happens. Great recipe otherwise! There were no left-overs!

Paige, I really haven't had that problem. However, I would suggest decreasing the liquid used if that is what is happening and it should turn out just right. Also, sometimes I make this with canned biscuits on top instead of the sutffing and it's always a big hit as well. So glad you enjoyed the recipe and hope it will work better for you next time!
